About me

I have a B.A (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling and have been working as a counselor since 1996.

My areas of expertise have been shaped by this long experience within which I have worked both 1:1 and with groups in the fields of bereavement, anxiety disorders, substance misuse and loss.

It is my belief that loss and the associated challenges occurs whenever we have unwanted change and the impact of this can be profound and shape our ability to cope.

As a humanistic counselor I see these struggles as part of the human condition and feel that with the right support a way out of those feelings can be negotiated.

I use a wide variety of skills to enable this, the most important of which is unconditional positive regard and an acknowledgement that the solution lies in the individual. With the right support and gentle though honest interventions a way forward can usually be found.

I see myself as walking alongside my clients in an authentic and yet professional capacity and together we traverse the difficult terrain.

All client disclosures are as per B.A.C.P. guidelines.
